Southern Pecan Pie

SOUTHERN PECAN PIE


  • 2 (8 inch) pie shells unbaked 
  • 6 eggs, beat lightly 
  • 1 c. sugar 
  • 1 c. dark Karo syrup 
  • 1/4 lb. butter, melted 
  • 2 c. coarsely chopped pecans 
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • Pinch of salt
Directions




  1. Place eggs, sugar and corn syrup in 2 quart bowl. Add melted butter. Mix well. Stir in pecans. Add salt and vanilla.
  2. Pour into unbaked shells. Place in center of preheated oven. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. 
  3. >Center of pie may look soft, but it will become firm as it cools. Good eating!!
