Change The Format Of Blogger's Popular Post Widget

Image
If you're reading this, you're probably not a 'code warrior'.  You're probably like me.  You can't just sit down and pound out page after page of ampersands, brackets and ampersands. You're more of a tweaker.      That doesn't mean you can't usually get the results you want from a template.  It just means that sometimes you have to search for helpful websites to give you some guidance. Something sort of 'specific' in context, but 'general' in terms of offering the solution. That's what this is.  It's a way to change the way your 'Most Popular Post" module in Google's Blogger application appears on your page.  Currently the widget's choices of formatting are limited to the title, how popular in what number of days, whether you show an image and a snippet of information about the posts, number of posts, and how many of the posts you want to display.  That may not be enough selection for you.  You might w

Everybody's Talkin At Me

Being A Rock Is A Very Heavy Life To the friends I  created this image for - (you know who you are), roll your mouse over the image, click on the icons.  In case you need a  direct link to the video.   And in case you're wondering  I won't let you leave my love behind .  Yeah. It's like that. Since you rang my bell  “For what are we born if not to aid one another?”

Posting to Google Plus Page with Private Community

Image
I have more than one blog.  Not all of them are mine.  Some of them are client's blogs, which I post to from my account as an author.  These clients have Google+ pages.  I needed to be able to post to a client's blog and Google+ Business Page with one click.  The integration of Google+ with Blogger allows that, and I appreciate it, use it, and love it. When Google launched the Communities program, one of my friends created a 'Private" community from his personal account.  He also created a "Public" community with the same topic. Which made me start thinking if this would be the best solution.

How To Start ROCKING Your Exercise Walk

Image
Just because you can't run a mile today, doesn't mean you won't be doing a 5K sometime next year.  Who knows, if you make it your goal and you focus on it you may even run a Marathon. One thing is for sure, hoping your way back to health doesn't work.  You have to get up and move slowly but surely towards your goal. And in order to have a goal, you have to create one.      If you're the kind of person that says "I'm going to run a Marathon this year!" and then just goes out on Saturday and runs one...Great. Good for you and more power to you. Let me know when the swelling comes down. I'd like to learn how you did it.

Herman Brood - Saturday Night

Image
Saturday Night Fever might have been the Big Thing in 1977-1978, but over in the Netherlands there was a different Saturday Night Fever.  Herman Brood was a  Dutch musician, painter, actor, poet and media personality. He has been called "the Netherlands' greatest and only rock 'n' roll star. This was what was on my turntable more often than "Stayin' Alive".  Roll over the image, then over the icons - click to play song. Gwen Daubenmeyer - ReMax Realty Michigan

Image
I met Gwen Daubenmeyer online while taking Chris Brogan's   Blog Masters Topic Class (affiliate).  The purpose of the class is to improve your writing skills, and therefore improve the content of your website/blog.   Part of the class homework involves checking each other's work. Her  blog   is a mixture of tips for buyers, sellers, and other people interested in the Real Estate Market. What struck me the most about Gwen's writing was its clarity of message.  She tells it like it is.  Her signature at the end of each article says "No Bull ~ No Broken Promises."  Gwen delivers on that promise! What I See When I Look At Stuff

Image
Everybody is born with two eyes, two ears and one mouth.  I'm no mathematician, but according to the "Holiday Inn Express Guidebook to Better Calculus" that means that we should be looking, and listening at least twice as much as we talk. Yeah. I know.   If you've ever had an opportunity to engage me in any discussion concerning technology, you probably had a problem squeezing a word in edgewise during the alleged two-way conversation. You're probably wondering "How can he say that?" Is this one of those pot vs kettle  things, or am I simply not listening to myself.  By the end of this post, I hope to know the answer to that myself. After reading this, I'd appreciate you taking a few minutes to give me some feedback.
