Marines - Proper Rifle Discipline

Marine Corps General Reinwald was interviewed on the radio the other day and you may have read his reply to the lady conducting the interview concerning guns andchildren. Regardless of how you feel about gun laws you have got to love this!!!!!!! It is a portion of the National Public Radio (NPR) interview between a female broadcaster and the Marine General. General Reinwald was preparing to sponsor troops of Boy Scouts visiting his military installation. FEMALE INTERVIEWER: So, General Reinwald, what things are you going to teach these young boys while they are visiting your base? GENERAL REINWALD: We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, camping, cooking, archery and shooting. FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it? GENERAL REINWALD: I don't see why, they will be properly supervised while on the rifle range. FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children? GENERAL REINWAL

BBQ Ribs

Image
Anybody that knows me, knows that I love ribs. I get compliments on them all the time, so I figured this would be the best way to share the recipes and tell you how I prefer to cook them. The steps are numbered… with some other stuff in between. Put the ribs in a roasting type pan. Long enough for the ribs, and deep enough to catch the juice that will be created while the ribs marinate overnight Start by removing the membranes on the ribs. Remove it wherever you find it. Set aside. Then make the rubs and sauce below The rub recipes are really just a guide… use whatever amounts of each ingredient that makes you happy! BBQ Rub Recipe Ingredients: 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup paprika 1 tablespoon black pepper 1 tablespoon salt 1 tablespoon chili powder 3/4 tablespoon garlic powder 3/4 tablespoon onion powder 1 teaspoon cayenne BBQ Rub Recipe 2 INGREDIENTS: 1/3 cup paprika 3 tablespoons dry mustard 2 tablespoons onion powder 2 tablespoons garlic powder 2

Thanks so much Oprah.

If you can do the math... you can figure this one out and you can thank a teacher.  If you can't figure it out, you can thank Oprah... who has helped make it acceptable to mislead people about facts. In 2004, Oprah “gave” 276 people in her audience brand new cars. The cars were actually donated by Pontiac, but of course it was Oprah who got the rush of publicity surrounding the event, and we all saw clips of grateful, screaming new-car owners. Most of us would be excited if unexpectedly gifted with a new car, but these recipients were particularly happy—letters from friends and family had helped Oprah’s staff select people truly in need of vehicles. The cameras had for the most part turned toward fresher news when, a week later, CNN Money reported that none of those winners could keep the cars they’d been “given” unless they were able to cough up thousands of dollars to cover taxes. The $28,500 value of the cars was taxable income, potentially leaving some recipients on the hook f

10 Step Easy Captcha Installation

Image
Project: Installing Joomla15Captcha from Kupala.net       Description: Captcha is a technology that helps keep spammers from filling out contact us, requests for services, and other types of forms across the web. When you go to a site and have to enter in numbers or letters before you can submit the form, that is a 'captcha' image. The reason that it works is because computers can't read the images. They can read text but not images… so when one of the 'spam robots' or 'spambots' comes visiting your site, it can't enter in the right code to be able to submit the form. What I can't tell you is what possible purpose it serves for them to submit the spam.      Project Goals: Create a planner and a blog that will allow me to tell others how to successfully install Kupala.nets 'Joomla15Captcha' on to a website. I had a lot of problems getting this to work, and although the documentation on their forums was extensive… it didn't reall

[Project Honey Pot] 1 Billion Spammers Served

Subject [Project Honey Pot] 1 Billion Spammers Served From Project Honey Pot Team To Stan Sent Tuesday, December 15, 2009 11:30 AM Dear Stan: On Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at 06:20 (GMT), Project Honey Pot achieved a milestone: receiving its 1 billionth spam message. The billionth message was an United States Internal Revenue Service phishing scam sent to an email address that had been harvested more than two years ago. More than just a single spam email, the billionth message represents the collective work of you and tens of thousands of other web and email administrators like you in more than 170 countries around the world. Together we have built Project Honey Pot into the largest community tracking online fraud and abuse. To celebrate this milestone, we sifted through five years of data to learn more about spam and the spammers who send it. As a small token of thanks for your help, we wanted to share some of our more interesting preliminary findings. Click the

What is an area 51 Report?

Subject: What is an Area 51 report? Purpose: To give readers an idea of what an area 51 report is? Research: None Needed... Findings: Reports in general take way too much time to write, at least for me. I think I am much omore productive when I time my activities. That is why I created the Are 51 Report. The concept is that it should take 5 minutes to write, and 1 minute to read. That's pretty much the gist of it. No mystery, now secret formula. Try it yourself and I think you'll fine that you can be more productive using this method. All you need is a stopwatch or clock…and the discipline to stop when the buzzer goes off. Conclusions: Everyone I've sent Area 51 reports to really liked them. Next Action: Create an area51reports blog and create a one note form to use for the report. Stumbling blocks : It just seems that some reports will take more than an area 51 report to cover the material. Solution for blocks: I have to determine if the repor
