Some kinda brown sugared Pecan recipe

     My wife loves pecans.  Lucky for me, we have a pecan tree in the front yard that produces ALOT of pecans.  I was sitting around watching Pitch Black one Saturday, while my wife was hard at work at the Hobby Lobby. I started thinking about things I could do that she would make me productive in a way that she would appreciate.  So, without really knowing what I was going to do with them, I started shelling pecans.  I shelled enough to fill up about half a football and decided it was time to make something with them. I looked a a few recipes, and being a man....decided I would make one up myself.  So here's how you make something that's sorta, kinda like a brown sugar meringue on pecans.  In other words... the crunchiness of pork skins, with the sweetness of a pecan turtle. The end result is that the pecans are coated with brown sugar and egg white batter, then baked.

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 45 minutes
Ingredients:
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 1/2 to 3 cups pecan halves
Preparation:
  • Beat egg white until foamy;
  • Slowly beat in the brown sugar mixed with flour.
  • Add salt and vanilla flavoring,
  • Put in pecans.
  • Transfer pecans to a greased baking pan and bake at 250° for about 45 minutes
Get ready for some big thank you's from your wife!
