Southern Pecan Pie
SOUTHERN PECAN PIE
- 2 (8 inch) pie shells unbaked
- 6 eggs, beat lightly
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. dark Karo syrup
- 1/4 lb. butter, melted
- 2 c. coarsely chopped pecans
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- Pinch of salt
- Place eggs, sugar and corn syrup in 2 quart bowl. Add melted butter. Mix well. Stir in pecans. Add salt and vanilla.
- Pour into unbaked shells. Place in center of preheated oven. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.
- >Center of pie may look soft, but it will become firm as it cools. Good eating!!
